“My apologies. You had the salmon, right ma’am?” He asked me.
Ma’am at 23. Wow. Hope I didn’t look old. Perhaps it was the red lipstick. Red lipstick made me look older.
“Yes, I did. The gentleman here will have the flank steak,” I spoke for Denny in his absence.
“Very well. Do you know what Mr. Tyrone Long will be dining on this evening?” He asked to both of us, looking at his list of obvious cards given from the table.
“Pussy. Do you have pussy on the menu?”
I pressed my lips together, looked up to the shocked white man with sympathy in my eyes. Monie was obviously upset with Ty about some possible indiscretions.
“I’ll just double-check the card that was sent in,” he stammered out.
I nodded stiffly with a meek smile and shut my eyes in mortification.
“And don’t bother with the other two. They’ve been escorted to another table,” Monie added with laughter in her tone pointing to where Neef and his baby’s mother, Melissa had been sent to squeeze at another table with some other crew members. Daddy was still upset with Neef since the night of my attack. The seating arrangements for the wedding had obviously been made long before that, but Denny didn’t care.
“Get this nigga the fuck from around me. Didn’t I say don’t come back around me until I send for you? Ty, get rid of this bitch nigga, man.”
I felt bad for Neef. I tried to settle Denny, rubbed his arm and whispered for him to let it go. But he was deaf to my pleas so I left it alone. Monie obviously enjoyed it, never caring much for Melissa. That was probably why. She accused her of giving Ty and even Denny the “eye” on more than one occasion. Things like that didn’t bother me, though. I knew what type of man I had. I was well aware that he was hard to be ignored. Denny commanded eyes, attention, and anything else he wanted in any room he stepped into. And God forbid he opened his mouth, you were under his spell until he released you. I had to take the good with the bad.
“Bitch gives our niggas the eye every chance she get,” Monie mumbled and I didn’t have to ask who she was talking about.
“Shit, Ty will probably fuck her if he hasn’t already. She look like his type. Fat… black as hell…”
I bit my tongue. Melissa was a beautiful, thick, chocolate girl. Her skin glowed, smooth and dark like rich chocolate, similar to Brianna’s... I often envied the beauty of their skin. I never saw a breakout or fine lines in it, and I knew Monie was speaking from sheer jealousy. And I also knew her passive-aggressive attempt was to take a shot at my cousin. If Ty liked his women chocolate and thick then maybe Monie needed to re-evaluate her relationship, because she was far from either.
“You know, Neeki… I fuck with you the long way. So I’ma just keep it real with you.
